GOD FORBID: Behind-The-Scenes Footage From 'War Of Attriton' Video Shoot Available
May 7, 2009Behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the "War of Attriton" video from New Jersey metallers GOD FORBID can be viewed below. The clip was shot by Ian McFarland (ALL THAT REMAINS, MESHUGGAH) and is expected to make its online debut soon.
Commented guitarist Doc Coyle: "Shooting videos kinda sucks. Especially performance videos. You have to head bang for 10 hours in a row, fake play your songs, and you don't even know if all the work will pay off with an awesome video. With that said, this is by far the best performance video we've ever had and it really captures the intensity of the song. As you can see from the clip, we really put our trust in Ian who was incredible to work with. Ian and his crew were superprofessional. I can't wait for everyone to see the finished product. And like Dave Chappelle says, 'Everything looks better in slow motion.'"
Metal Mark of SkullsNBones.com conducted an interview with Doc Coyle after GOD FORBID's April 23, 2009 concert in Atlanta, Georgia during the No Fear Energy Tour with LAMB OF GOD, AS I LAY DYING, CHILDREN OF BODOM and MUNICIPAL WASTE. Watch the 10-minute chat below.
Guitarist Dallas Coyle quit GOD FORBID last month following an argument with his brother, Doc. Doc said in a statement, "The disagreement [between me and Dallas] became angry on both sides, and he decided to sit out the tour the day we were supposed to leave. We later learned he did not want to tour anymore at all. Everyone in the band, including myself, was upset and shocked. For me, it's a lot tougher because he's my brother and I have a very close bond with him. We've done everything together our whole lives, so it's difficult to deal with emotionally but I understand he has bigger responsibilities at home to care for. I wish he would've handled it in a different way, but I am not angry at him for leaving if he is unhappy with our situation. I really hope he finds success and happiness in his future pursuits."
Former DARKEST HOUR axeman Kris Norris is playing second guitar for GOD FORBID during the No Fear Energy Tour, which kicked off on April 2 in Phoenix, Arizona.
GOD FORBID's new album, "Earthsblood", sold around 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to land at position No. 110 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD debuted at No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The album has shifted 15,000 units in the U.S. since its February 24 release.
